John is based in Somerset near Bath, and covers all aspects of financial planning including protection planning & investments.
John holds a Diploma in Financial Planning and has been in financial services for over 20 years following a career in the Royal Navy. He ran his own business as an independent financial adviser from 2006, before joining Nexus in May 2015.
When not working he enjoys country pursuits and spending time with his 2 young daughters
John's professional qualifications include:
- Diploma in Financial Planning (Dip.PFS)
- Mortgage Advice Qualification (MAQ)
- Statement of Professional Standing (SPS)
The Statement of Professional Standing is required by the FCA and is renewed annually. An SPS can only be issued by an FCA appointed accredited body and confirms that an adviser:

Has adhered to a code of ethical standards

Holds the required qualifications for the activities they undertake; and

Has completed appropriate Continuing Professional Development activities and complied with the 'Statements of Principle and Code of Practice for Approved Persons'.
